My two favourite golfers, for different reasons, are Greg Norman and Tiger Woods. The first because he is an Australian and grew up in Mt Isa in our sunshine State and the second because he is a darn good golfer who all of a sudden is quite exciting to watch.
The news is going crazy this week with Greg Norman finding love with a mother of two who grew up in Sydney’s Northern Beaches and last week, Tiger Woods played his first game of golf since that ‘incident’.
I don’t think that either golfer is particularly good in the ‘love’ stakes but they certainly make for an entertaining duo who are amongst the best in the world at golf. Amongst, only because I am not sure where Norman stands on the ladder these days.
From a branding point of view, both Greg Norman and Tiger Woods are guaranteed to be in the papers. If you want world news, stick your logo on their shirts or caps and you are guaranteed coverage. Whether it’s good or bad publicity, it’s publicity.
