When working in any professional business position, it becomes custom to formally present yourself in a particular way, and the higher you are on the pay scale, the more important this becomes.
Business leaders are expected to adhere to a dress code in which other subordinates follow.
We are expected to consider our formal presentation as business professionals. While we all want to be forever young, we should be wise and make healthy decisons for both ourselves and our work lives in order to achieve the highest possible outcomes in everything we do.
Be the trend not the joke
When we are business leaders it means that we are considered serious business. We have to be serious about ourselves and respect our own choices. We have less than 5 seconds to make an impression on someone new, and if the first thing they see is a person who looks like they were dragged out of bed, or dressed for a party - that impression may be lasting.
